Champagne mimosas and lemon drop shots sparkle with their zesty, citrus effervescence; mingling in the air with a juicy peach liqueur. Jasmine petals spread across the table. In the center sits a cake, vanilla bean icing and caramel dripping down the sides. A warm buzz sneaks up, followed by an uninhibited "mmm". Let’s light these candles. This is one 21 you won’t have trouble remembering. 

INSPIRATION: ”So, let’s be honest. There are two types of people. Those who can remember turning 21 and those who can’t; for whatever those reasons may be. I decided, what if we could all just have a redo with a 21st birthday of decadence? Great drinks, delicious cake; the air filled with aromas that make you want to drift away in mmm. Now. Each cruelty-free fragrance from For the Scent of It is crafted by hand with care using only responsibly sourced materials. Every fragrance is created from scratch one material at a time and each is diluted to high “Eau de Parfum” strength. There are no phthalates, parabens, dyes, and ABSOLUTELY NO pre-made, inexpensive “fragrance oils”. Each bottle is filled by hand in small batches making each bottle feel uniquely special during the process. Each bottle is shipped in eco-friendly packaging that can be reused or recycled. So often a perfume is purchased and the box just sits there or gets thrown out. We believe a perfume shouldn’t be regarded necessarily for extravagant packaging and should be enjoyed simply “For the Scent of It”!

Ingredients: Alcohol Denat., Fragrance (Parfum), Water (Aqua).
Cruelty-free and no parabens, pthalates, or dyes.

Oh my word is this delicious. I adore gourmand fragrances, but not the sickeningly sweet and cloying kind that so many turn out to be. I have sampled a number of perfumes claiming to smell something like "cake" and they all fall short of 21 Candles. This is airy and ethereal and smells like a high quality sponge cake drizzled in lemon sugar. I love to wear this in the spring, as it is joyful and fresh while still being decadent. I'm on my second bottle because every time I wear it I'm transported to a picnic, sitting on a quilt and eating light-as-air lemon cake, wiping sticky, citrus-glazed fingers in the grass and watching a field of wildflowers bloom.

An easy Blind Buy for the curious

This is one of those perfumes that teases you while you’re walking around and makes you wonder what smells so good. Once this hits my skin, I often get this depiction in my mind of a wooden honey dipper set down next to a delicious cigar on a porch in the fading twilight sunset, laughter echoing off the hills with play still afoot, bees buzzing their way home to the hive, and your beeswax candle sputtering at its last end with a faint trail of smoke.
It’s one of those easy wears that is so effortless in its effect. I’ve been wearing it as a “comfort” scent while we’ve experienced flickering lights in this ice storm.

If you enjoy Lovin’ Spoonful or Dreaming in Tonka, this may be a new favorite for you. And it would be such a perfect sample to start with if you’ve never tried this magnificent perfume house!
