JOURNEY: If a fig falls in the forest, and no one is there to hear it fall…well now you don’t have to be. This scent conjures up the image of biting into a fresh fig, the rich, leafy aroma still lingering in the air. The invigorating, green opening of the fragrance settles into a pulpy, creamy fig center that blends perfectly with the cloud of musk in the dry out.

INSPIRATION: This fragrance came to life after discovering a beautiful Sylvia Plath quote one day. Here’s just a fragment, but hopefully it helps you to get a feeling for Forbidden Fig:

“I saw my life branching out before me like the green fig tree in the story. From the tip of every branch, like a fat purple fig, a wonderful future beckoned and winked...I saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn't make up my mind which of the figs I would choose. I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest.” – Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar

Each cruelty-free fragrance from For the Scent of It is crafted by hand with care using only responsibly sourced materials. Every fragrance is created from scratch one material at a time and each is diluted to high “Eau de Parfum” strength. There are no phthalates, parabens, dyes, and ABSOLUTELY NO pre-made, inexpensive “fragrance oils”. Each bottle is filled by hand in small batches making each bottle feel uniquely special during the process. Each bottle is shipped in eco-friendly packaging that can be reused or recycled. So often a perfume is purchased and the box just sits there or gets thrown out. We believe a perfume shouldn’t be regarded necessarily for extravagant packaging and should be enjoyed simply “For the Scent of It”!

Ingredients: Alcohol Denat., Fragrance (Parfum), Water (Aqua).
Cruelty-free and no parabens, pthalates, or dyes.

All Sales are Final. For cosmetic product safety concerns, returns and exchanges are not accepted. Due to the fact that scent is very personal and expectations vary from person to person, we encourage all customers to purchase samples of our fragrances before purchasing a full bottle.

Smell A Green Fig

A photorealistic fig perfume, absolutely unisex and perfect for layering with sweet coconut or smoky sandalwood or jammy rose or anything cedarwood or blackberry/black currant. Because it is such a pure fragrance (impossible to find a muddied scent here at For the Scent of It), I am brought to a scene of smelling a green fig ripe and hanging from a branch right on the tree. You can smell the inner lining of the milky sap within the branch and would classify it as a Fruity, Clean, and Green perfume sans sweetness.

This is the perfume that ended my obsessive sample collecting - it's all I want to wear! It's the most realistic fig scent with bright grapefruit and I am so in love. And can we talk about that bottle?! It's the prettiest perfume bottle I have ever owned, it's on my favorite bookshelf because I just want to stare at it all day!
