JOURNEY: The scent may be the same in every bottle…the tale each person weaves with it, however, won’t be. This perfume’s journey will be different for everyone. Some tales may coincide with the next, some may clash. Each nose will tell a different story.

INSPIRATION: "The idea for this fragrance began years ago. I have always loved the idea of a community based fragrance where no notes are listed and people can discuss with each other what they think they smell. The name Folk Tale comes from the idea that folk tales change over the years from person to person, writer to writer. That is exactly the thought process on this fragrance. The next step was coming up with a difficult-to-decipher scent, and that took some time. One day, I may disclose the notes and accords I intended to be in there. Just maybe, the tale I intended to tell will change as well…"

Each cruelty-free fragrance from For the Scent of It is crafted by hand with care using only responsibly sourced materials. Every fragrance is created from scratch one material at a time and each is diluted to high “Eau de Parfum” strength. There are no phthalates, parabens, dyes, and ABSOLUTELY NO pre-made, inexpensive “fragrance oils”. Each bottle is filled by hand in small batches making each bottle feel uniquely special during the process. Each bottle is shipped in eco-friendly packaging that can be reused or recycled. So often a perfume is purchased and the box just sits there or gets thrown out. We believe a perfume shouldn’t be regarded necessarily for extravagant packaging and should be enjoyed simply “For the Scent of It”!

Ingredients: Alcohol Denat., Fragrance (Parfum), Water (Aqua).
Cruelty-free and no parabens, pthalates, or dyes.
Disclaimer: Caution; Flammable. Do not use near open flame. For external use only. Avoid spraying in eyes and mouth. If irritation occurs, stop use. Keep in a cool, dark place.

All Sales are Final. For cosmetic product safety concerns, returns and exchanges are not accepted. Due to the fact that scent is very personal and expectations vary from person to person, we encourage all customers to purchase samples of our fragrances before purchasing a full bottle.

Free standard shipping on domestic orders. All orders usually ship within 2 business days. We can currently only ship within the USA.

When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.

Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.

immediately addictive!

This scent immediately took me back to being young, and fascinated with the beautiful bottle of Dior Poison that my mom had but rarely wore. Does it actually smell like Poison? I have no idea, but that's where my nose took me down memory lane! Folk Tale is a smooth, clean, rich scent that feels witchy and wild. I love it!

Without saying specific notes, this one reminds me of what the inside of the enchanted iconic carriage from Cinderella would smell like. The powdered wig of the frog-turned coachmen floating in the breeze with wispy white clouds floating about on a sapphire blue sky, the cool breeze bringing in just the slightest hint of night-blooming florals who-knows-what-they’re-called, she’s never ventured this far before. The interior of the carriage made up of very fuzzy sage green velvet and the wooden wheels exuding a musky and dusty enchanting fragrance as they steal through the night.
